Lenoir defeated Louisburg 8-7 in a 12-inning game Saturday afternoon in the loser's bracket to face SMC in the championship game. 'We just ran out of gas,' Lenoir coach Lind Hartsell said. SMC (46-10) tied the game 2-2 in the fourth inning and took the lead in the fifth after scoring two runs and added four runs in both the sixth and eighth innings.

Parks was 2-for-3 with two runs scored and three RBIs. The pitch was Brooks Wood's first thrown after replacing Justin Parrish, who pitched 2/3 of an inning. 'I told my mom that I was going to get her the win so I could come home,' said Hank Parks, an Easley native, who hit his 11th home run of the season in the sixth inning to give SMC an 8-2 lead.

Teams from Maryland and New York will play with the winner advancing to the Junior College World Series in Colorado. Spartanburg Methodist College finished the NJCAA Region X Tournament undefeated after downing Lenoir 12-3 Saturday night at Duncan Park and will host the Eastern Districts next weekend.
